KOREN(Korea
Advanced Research Network)
is a non-profit testbed network infrastructure established for the purpose of
facilitating R&D in IT and encouraging international joint research
cooperation. It provides a high quality of broadband convergence network(BcN)
testbed for domestic and international research activities to industries,
academia, and research institutions, enabling tests of future network
technologies and supporting R&D on advanced applications. KOREN enables internetworking
and field testing which cannot be performed over commercial networks, validation
research on high-capacity application services, and international research
cooperation through internetworking with global research networks. KOREN reduces
R&D cost for researchers including provision of free Giga network
connection service. KOREN is the only advanced research network that allows
high-capacity traffic solely for testing purposes in Korea
